The Unending Noise Of The Lateral World

January 16, 2014 in Thought of The Day

Over the past year or so as I get a greater understanding of the dyslexic mind, I have started to notice a new phenomenon that I want to Unending Noisecall the noise of the lateral world. The more and more I listen to people try to justify their acts of injustice or just bad behavior. The way a lateral thinker will use any reason to justify their behavior boggles, my mind and is starting to become painful. the enlist justification for all acts is truly unbelievable overtime I’m beginning to really despise justifications we all do things that are not right or just bluntly wrong.

As I’ve discussed this topic with several of my friends and colleagues. The prevailing wisdom is maybe I should try a little harder to understand the lateral mind and justifications, they keep repeating the same statement everything in the world is not black or white or true or false. I would like to put an end to this myth right now, in the real world everything is black or white or true or false. Only in the deepest darkest corner of the lateral mind could we ever come up with the concept of middle ground, this concept is totally based on man’s need to justify their actions no matter how atrocious they are.

Beginning in 2014 I refuse to take any justification from anybody. As they begin with their feeble attempt to justify their behavior, I will simply shut them off and go on about my business because the noise of the lateral world is becoming overly painful for a dyslexic mind to comprehend

Farewell to a good friend

October 21, 2013 in Thought of The Day

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Farewell to a good friend, since I was about 9 years old. I have been using my favorite statement “I am just a poor black man trying to make it in America (Lewis, 1975)”
pbmia

as of October 19, 2013 I can no longer use the statement in good or bad conscience. Last week during the government shutdown I Was listening to news stories about the government shutdown and something caught my attention.

A story about government making the decision to shut down the WIC (Women, Infants & Children) program, imagesThe basic purpose of this program is to provide milk, cereal, eggs and other basic staples to children below the poverty level and under age 5. I would truly explain the thoughts that went through my mind when I heard the government had decided to shut down the pro

gram but I also must remember that I am a Christian. No matter whom you want to blame for the government shutdown. When we as a country make a hard decision that it is okay to not feed needy children under 5 years old, There is no justification for this action no matter what God you server or don’t serve. So back to my dilemma what will be my new metaphor for everyday life I will let you know soon.

New commitment to Google hangout

October 4, 2013 in Thought of The Day

New commitment to Google hangout, for a long time now I’ve slowly been migrating all my long-distance communication to Google hangoutshangout. As of today I have totally moved all of my online chat activities and basic web communications over to hang out. The ability to talk to people face-to-face no matter where they are in the world has truly been great step forward for my overall communications with parents. since I have been doing a lot of one-on-one conversations with parents that have children with dyslexia. So please feel free at any time to contact me through the use of Google hangout (ll13595@gmail.com) and may we all have plenty of great conversations in the future.

Because It Is What We Do

August 25, 2013 in Thought of The Day

The other day one of my little brothers asked me a question, why do you always Go out of your way to help other people? my answer was “Because it is what we Do”, as he looked at me strangely I began to wonder if this was everybody’s practice. I began reflecting on the people I’ve met throughout my life, and quickly came to the conclusion it is not within everybody’s personality to help others without looking for praise. I have a group of friends that I called the Inner Circle, and the one thing we all have in common is the statement “Because it is what we Do”. So this is a special thanks to all those people out there who Go out of their way to help others, if anything in the list below reflects the way you live your life I would just like to truly say I appreciate you.

  • Helping people with their resumes
  • Helping people find a job
  • Always having other people’s kids living in your home
  • If you’re the parent who always buys two pair of football cleats, one for your kid and one for any other kid on the team who might need them.
  • If you take multiple kids in the neighborhood for haircuts.
  • If you are the person everybody calls when they need help i.e. moving day, cutting trees in the backyard and all the other beautiful things people need help with. (Special thanks to jereln)
  • If you are the person who answers your phone at three o’clock in the morning to listen to another friends problems.
  • If you are the person who always picks up everybody from the airport.
  • If you are the person who volunteers to take other peoples children to college orientation when the parents can’t make it.
  • If you are the person who just pickeds up the phone to say hello to a friend when you think about them.
  • Etc. etc. etc.
I like to send out a special thanks to the Inner Circle (Jalston, dnollan, ghead, hmonds, jereln, kcummings, ninal4_7, dnolen, patpat717,, tannya26_2000, tejohnson, tre_biggs, vpace, martinr, zharmon, faithemma)
